Demetrios is the first born son to an Athenian citizen, he lives in the city and is about 14 at the time of Spaceship Earth’s class.

Childhood

Demetrius is a rainbow/only child of his family. He was born to an average sophist named Telephos and lives inside the Athens gates. He was a quiet tiny baby, having grown up perfectly healthy. He is basically a miracle child. Demetrius liked to play with his spinning top and toy horse, being watched by his nursing maid on the house porch a lot. He didn’t go far without an older family member/maid to watch him. His parents were also pretty strict because of their past fear.

But he did have a few neighbor kid friends who came out to play with him, they often stood around in a circle and played puzzle games, since that's all Demetrios wanted to play.

When Demetrius was a kid, he always asked tons of questions in and out of class and loved to tinker with stuff and make things. His father also starts to bring him along to more advanced classes when he’s done with his basics class during the day. Demetrius is fascinated by everything he can learn and actively seeks out knowledge and information all his life.

In the Spaceship Earth scene, Demetrios is about 15 during the class. The Kynosarges had about 3 classes that night, his father had finished a class that evening before nightfall.

Adulthood

This freedom of education excites him even more and he goes out to travel around Greece and hear what other sophists and teachers had to say. On his travels he also meets a great friend from Korinth named Kimon, they bond over figuring out mathematical equations and Kimon shows him new tools to help solve the equations that Demetrios had never seen before. The two proceed to travel together for quite some time before splitting again, they do eventually meet each other again later in Athens.

However, from all the knowledge that Deme learns, he writes his own book about what he had learned from traveling, it was quite extensive and was kept around for a few centuries. But unfortunately got lost to time, along with the traces of his life. He is mentioned a few times in other scholar books thankfully.

When Demetrios gets a lot older, he settles down back in his fathers house and helps take care of his old parents as well with his house. He never married but graciously welcomes any student of knowledge that is traveling or needs shelter for the night. He also holds classes in his home and it becomes some sort of hub for a time. Eventually Demetrios passes away and his home is given to his closest friend, Kimon, to use as his family home (at this point Kimon has his own wife and kids) by Demetrios’ wishes.
